Data Management CPT: Data Collection Proposal

Data Management CPT: Data Collection Proposal

Thesis:

Twelve per cent of deaths of fatal car accidents is due to distracted driving in the United States. The law that was placed in 2008 regarding distracted driving has not reduced the overall amount of crashes ever since, which indicates that the texting ban in Ontario will not reduce the death from collisions with the similar penalty with the United States.

Discussion:

The topic that I am choosing to research about deals with the law prohibiting texting while driving. These articles prove that texting ban is effective among most of the people, but they also show how they affect the limit of the texting ban. This indicates that not all articles have the same result. It was effective in some States, but others didn’t. That is the reason why I will do more research to see how many people think that texting ban in Ontario is effective after Ontario made the law prohibiting texting while driving in 2015. Also, I will try to find out why they agree or disagree. The variables that I will be focusing on are the time that people use their mobile phone while driving, what they do with a phone in a car, and how the law changed their mobile phone usage while driving. From this variables I could observe how much time people use their phone while driving, the main reason of using phone, and the effectiveness of texting ban. I will determine the situation that the United States faced after texting bans and how Canada should handle the law prohibiting texting while driving based on the data that I will collect.
